Release- Press Conference, Seventeenth Convocation 2014
The University has completed its 26 years of
excellence in the field of higher learning and research. Thirty four students will
be awarded Gold Medal for standing first in the order of merit for the academic
session 2012-13 of different courses running in the ten faculties including
Agriculture, Art, Commerce, Education, Law, Science, Management Studies,
Applied Social Sciences and Humanities, Engineering and Technology, and
Medicine, and 337 students will be awarded Ph.D.
degree in their respective subjects.
The faculty members of the University are engaged in advance
research in different academic areas, several teachers have been awarded advance
research grants from different funding agencies including UGC, ICSSR, DST etc.
The Department of Applied Psychology has been accredited by Council for
Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programmes (CACREP) USA for their
high quality research and teaching. The University has organized national
seminars (Advances in Management Practices and; Corporate Social Responsibility),
workshops (International workshop on Counseling skills in Health profession and
schools; Multivariate analysis in Psychological and management research; and Science
Communication: Script writing, camera, editing and filmmaking) and Faculty
Development Program during the session.
The University has embarked in the sports also; students
of the University won five Gold medals in All India inter-University sports
competition under individual events category. University team secured first
position in East-Zone inter-University male Hockey and male cricket tournaments, and second position in East-Zone
inter-University male Kabaddi and female cricket tournaments. Rajendra Bind, a
student of Handia PG College, Handia, Allahabad participated
in World universities athletics tournament held in Kazan
Russia , our cricket team has
participated in All Inidia University Cricket Championship (UCC) organized by
NDTV - Toyota .
Our students Lalit Upadhaya and Pratibha Chaudhary have been the part of Junior
India Hockey team.
The University has identified several thrust areas for
further development such as revision of syllabus, automation of processes, up
gradation of laboratories, R&D activities, preparation of annual calendar
etc.
